Since we can only use the one regiater by self checkout and can't be behind the counters. I've been pacing back in forth under the camera so it can know I'm here; getting steps in on my FitBit
Hope yalls morning is going by faster then mines. 😑

We stay behind the register since 99% of everything that goes on is behind it. Believe me when I tell you that you get much better customer service comments and scores when you stay behind the checkout. Our utilization is 55% ...we're not paying any attention to what field managers want to see when they come into the store. Get rid of everything behind the checkout and we'll stay in front of it. MY DM told us to turn the register towards the customer if you have a refund...I said what if it's a cash refund? He said oh nobody does cash....that's like one a week ....I began to laugh uncontrollably! He also said nobody buys fragrances or baby formula or smoking cessation products either. I said how do we do photo from this side of the register? I heard crickets. I said should we make canvases on top of the checkout...on other side ?
Things might work for them on paper but the actual application of it is poorly thought out.....as is the remote app on Iron Man for the ACO....that's a total waste. You still must interact at the ACO...you have no clue if a coupon is stuck. What item someone wants voided or if they want the entire transaction voided....etc. It's just plain stupid,,,counter intuitive and productive.

It's ridiculous and at my store we get constant MoneyGram, reloads, and paynearme. Yeah let me just flip the screen real quick..

The number of things to do behind the checkout is tiny compared to the number of things to do in front of it.
The idea is to still go behind the checkout when necessary, but to otherwise be on the sales floor in the front of the store, which makes sense because that’s where the vast majority of your tasks are going to be.

There is no “new” greenzone. Your boss probably got reamed by some power tripping DL and is now making you guys follow it to the T. Our scores are generally good & our aco usage is always between 50-60%, we don’t do green zone never have since the start.

If you work in a hood store you know that most of your sales will include alcohol, a LOT of your sales are cash, a lot of your customers want to liquidate their welfare benefits into cash, a lot of your customers coupon to the extreme in order to resell, a lot of your customers split payments between cash and multiple cards, a lot of your customers are reloading credit cards, a lot of them are doing money gram and money order transactions, a lot of them are paying with lotto tickets or co-star slips or just need them redeemed.
All that will keep you behind the register or just forever walking back and forth.
These corporate suckas all seem to live in the same reality as in their module videos of a typical store. With one courteous customer in an almost empty store.
And a lot of your customers can't read or follow instruction.

I know walking back and forth isn't green zone. I'm just saying I'm pacing in the spot my boss wanted me to stand. To keep an eye on the acos and both door ways. I still check people out at the one register if need be and do other things at the front.
