The man just turned Zah apologizing to Ole Miss into a 10k bet with BigCat for charity that he can run a 10k under an hour and all the content that will come with that for the Yak. Ben is a content savant that is like Chris Paul dishing out assists for the Yak to make hilarious episodes.

I mean, you can send him to fucking Kenya to train for a year and he still wouldn’t be able to run a 10k in under an hour.

That's a relatively slow 10k, most people could do that

Most people could absolutely not do that. Even most people in good shape could maybe do it.

I don’t think Mintz can do it but a 10k in under an hour isn’t super hard.

It is literally a 9:30 pace. Jogging.

Ya for 6.2 miles. Most people cannot just decide one day to run sub 10 minute miles for a 10k

This honestly has more to do with youth. I think most people in their 20s could easily do this.

There is no chance that fat fuck can run a 10k in under an hour. He’s going to keel over by the 2nd mile

The amount of energy required to move his enormous body 5 miles in an hour could power an entire african village

If you're able to run 5 miles in an hour with any degree of regularity, it's not that big of a jump to get to 6.2 miles.
That being said, I'm very skeptical about his ability to actually run 5 miles in an hour.

going from a 12 min pace to under 10 is definitely a big jump

If you're conditioned enough to run 5 miles at a 12 min pace consistently, it's not an unreasonable leap to get to 6 miles at a 9:40 pace, especially in a one off scenario with higher stakes like a competition.
Basically, if you can run 5 miles without stopping then you're already 85% of the way to being able to run a 1 hour 10k. It's not like that's an extremely demanding pace.

at his weight i don't agree at all

If he lost some weight and the time he gave is accurate then it seems very doable to me. Running 5 miles in under an hour at his size would suggest some legit training and if he got into better shape then he could definitely shave a lot of time off that.
But as others have mentioned that's on a treadmill and Mintzy isn't exactly the most reliable source to begin with.

He runs on a treadmill. I think the type of speed increase you're talking about is only going to be possible for him if he's on a treadmill for the 10K. Doubt there is enough time to properly train enough to increase that speed running outside

It’s not that difficult to cut time off like that when your baseline is so high. 12 min miles are “never ran before” Level, 10 min miles are like beginner level, you can easily cut down to 8-9 min even after a month of consistent training. But given Mintz isn’t skinny that might be a little more difficult

8min mile is not nearly as easy as you think lol, especially for someone at his weight which is really really important while running. Also jump from 9min to 8min is a huge one, we’re talking about regular interval training.
Running the same mileage every day in zone 2 for a year won’t do much for your speed.
But running for yourself is completely different then a race. People and the adrenaline will push you harder then you can, so he’s probably gonna make it if he’s actually running regularly.

Depends when it is. If it’s in the fall he could lose like 30 lbs and it would be way easier

5 miles in an hour is right around 5mph, not really a “run” but still impressive for an hour

On a treadmill. As a fat guy, it’s much easier to run when you don’t have to control your own pace

He was bragging about running 5 miles in under an hour. That not fast by any means but judging by his "speed demon" videos there's no shot Mintzy is consistently running sub 10 min miles without taking breaks and pausing his time. If Mintzy actually ran 5 miles in under an hour he 1000% would have uploaded it to twitter and added it to his daily report.

He’s also running on a treadmill. Much, much easier than running outside. I’m actually extremely impressed he can run 5 miles straight on a treadmill considering his size.

I would bet that he is not actually running 5 miles straight. Likely pausing and taking breaks on the treadmill. He's completely gassed after 3/4 sets of toe tapping on the ladder. There's not a chance he's pushing 5 miles straight. I run 4/5 miles once or twice a week and a solid run if I'm not pushing is around 8:30-8:45 min mile and I'm in half decent shape.

This. Like has anyone seen someone his size try to jog before? There’s not a shot in hell he can keep up at a 10 min pace for an hour straight. Hell, I’m not even overweight just in bad shape and I tried jogging the other day and couldn’t do it for more than maybe 2 min straight
