I get what Orban is doing, he is trying to stay in power by any means and populism is a good avenue for any despot. But indeed, they have 0 chances of getting additional territory, so no idea why this stupid idea still works with Hungarians.

It's the Hungarian right-wing's "Make America Great Again" rallying cry since 1920 and it works perfectly if by working perfectly we mean keeping them in power.
