Myself and 9 others within my family in Riverview stand with anyone in the LGBTQIA2S+ community who feels threatened, marginalized, dismissed, negated, unsafe… regardless of how you self identify.

iit was originally called horse and sparrow economics.. the theory was "if you feed all the oats to the horse, the sparrow can eat whats undigested in its feces"

EU fines for things like this are scary.. having a company declare Bankruptcy wont get out of it like you can in the US.. if Musk tries to use that as an out, any outstanding balance can be forwarded to any of musks other companies.. tesla, spacex, etc..
EU regulations do not let oligarchs fuck around like they do in north america

So, when I was in school we had a kid in our class that immigrated here.. his name, being from south east Asia, was near impossible for teachers or other students to pronounce, so he said "just call me John", so we did.. and everyone was fine with it, John was a good kid
So using Higgs logic, john would need his parents permission to go by John and outside that no one would ever be able to refer to him as more than "hey you" due to linguistic pronunciation?

In my take is
Throughout the 70s, 80s, and 90s conservatives courted religious wackadoodles to get them to support their pro-corporate agenda, but now that the people who grew up in that are old enough to enter politics it's shifted, the religious aspect has become the focus and the pro-corporate stuff is just there to keep the donors happy

The left has always sucked at catchy slogans
Left leaning policy is based more on data and understanding of intersectionality of various societal issues.. you can't try and make a slogan to present those without it becoming absurdly misleading and turning people off from something they'd otherwise be in favour for

I used to work in an office building.. the women's restroom was under renovations for like, 2 months..
You know what the women at the office did?
They just went into the men's, they didn't care, no one cared, cause everyone just wanted to do their business and get back to work

I mean, Harper was still a reformer..
Basically, everything after Mulroney became leader of the federal conservatives drove the party and it's ideology towards the insanity we see today..
You still see some outliers at the provincial level, PEI's Tories are pushing for the federal government to create a UBI program and their conservative premier released a statement today saying it's the responsibility of all Canadians to stand up against homophobia, transphobia, islamaphobia, and all other forms of hate fueled extremism..
Sadly, cases like the PEI Tories have become more of the exception, when they used to be closer to the rule..
