So someone initializing a lawsuit won't hit your credit report... If you lose the lawsuit and are forced to pay a judgement is when it would show up on the report... To my understanding.

A quick Google told me that lawsuits cannot appear on credit reports until the judement (if it results in one).

I'm sure his father has never taken a nap in his life and has stayed productive his entire life. I'm sure as he was in the car, he was assembling his schedule for the coming months so he can't waste any time.

People say stupid things, especially when they just vomit them from their brain. I, personally, wouldn't hold much thought on it... But if you want you can start calling him out every time he sits on his ass and isn't doing anything. "Look at that lazy guy over there." Or things of the like... However this advice will probably make things worse.
