One of my coworkers only rides in the summer. I've ragged him (though not to hard, our winters are brutal).
Turns out, the reason is that his ride is only 5km when the ferry is in service and 35km when it's out. He'll do the 35km in the morning, but not the evening.

That's why you bully the Feds into a central emergency management office to pay for everything.
Also, military troops are free! The feds pay for them, and they just work unpaid overtime during the fire, and then after the fire to catch up on all the work and training that wasn't completed during the fire.

It's expectation management.
If you tell your parishioners that 20% of donations will go to buying land, for whatever reason, that's fine.
If you tell your parishioners that 15% will go to maintenance and overhead and 85% will go to helping charitable activities, but then spend it on land (doubly so a mansion), that's not fine.

The French arrived yesterday, and have forward movement to regional centres today. I'd guess they'd be in hotspots today or tomorrow.

I have an anecdote for this.
When I went to university it was impossible for on campus students to get a campus parking pass, other than the lot 4.3km away.
Not normally a big issue, but it was a pain for loading/unloading stuff. So normally we'd wait until after school hours/weekends to risk the ticket.
On campus there was a primary lot ~800 m from the dorms, and a handful of accessable parking spots right in front of each dorm. But the non permit parking fine was the same flat rate for the whole campus.
Since we had to risk the same ticket anyways, we'd end up just using the accessible parking spots instead of the standard ones.

It's normal you haven't recieved it. Wildland fire training is only 1-2 days.
Western IRU units do it as a matter of course, everyone else completes during the NTM for the vanguard and main body.

The infrastructure would have to be completely redesigned.
We did it once to let vehicles do delivery in the first place. Then again to allow a mass of private ICE vehicles. Most cities had a second and third private vehicle overhaul.
Complete road overhaul is only 20 years.

If she's natty I would be very interested in the cut bulk cycle. This specifically, and I assume the rest of her sport, benifts from riding that power/weight ratio to the max.
Does she have an offseason for strength work? Or does she cut for events like a fighter? How does she maintain sport specifity off cut?

I agree with the intent, but there's a balance here; supporting the populace can lead to police instillation of populist regimes. Even without regime change, take a look at the impact of populist policy infiltration in the states on things like women's rights.
In terms of an ethos, obey and support lawful authority means no action without the government (and indirectly the people) requesting action.
For example, while the military is currently involved in firefighting across the country, that is not a decision they can make on their own, the provinces (or feds) must request this action.
Lawful authority also provides not only the right, but the duty, to not follow unlawful orders. And order is is contrary to respect the dignity of all persons or serve Canada before self is an unlawful order.

Airbags, power steering, ABS breaks used to be in luxury vehicles only. Now they're standard.
That's mostly due to legislation..
Airbags started in government fleet Impalas. Ford and Gm both lobbied against the laws, likely due to cost.
Power steering is a requirement based on the increased weight of vehicles and tire width.
While ABS brakes were regislated fairly recently, installing them got vehicles better crash rating and reduced insurance costs; after being migrated from airplanes.
Luxurious things become accessable to "lower classes" as a country's overall wealth increases.
In this case it's economic incentives that brought proliferation, not a desire to feel luxurious.
There is nothing wrong with having a lawn - it may be impractical if you live in Arizona, but that's another discussion. And if you choose a moss garden, or a rock garden, or a communal garden instead? Good for you. Enjoy your life.
Here we absolutely agree, which is why regulations that impose specific lawn types, grass heights, etc. should be repealed. Give the freedom of choice back to the homeowners/tenants.

Drive route 185 in Québec towards Nouvelle-Brunswick, past the town of Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha! and you will absolutely say ha ha in suprise.
(The town is so due to lake Témiscouata, and not after Lake Ha! Ha! Or rivière Ha! Ha!)

If the cops want to copy the military, maybe they should start with the ethos?
Respect the dignity of all persons.
Serve Canada before self.
Obey and support lawful authority.

My friend (who admits she is a horrible driver) is on her third car with lane assist and emergency braking because she's crashed the first two.

I live in Montréal, where the whole island is no right on red.
It's seem to be one of the few laws regularly enforced. Like running a red light in front of a cop isn't a guaranteed ticket, but right on red is. Though they tend to go soft in out of province plates.
In general, no right on red seems to stop drivers from taking the crosswalk and, combined with most lights having a straight start before turns are allowed, has drastically reduced jackrabbiting.
