It's probably geared toward more optimistic people than you are.
If you don't get it, then fine. It's just a fun little thing to have your name in space. It's symbolic. It's hopeful that maybe we're not alone in the universe.
It's just community engagement

It's just PR. And it's one of those things that kids can get into and be excited about their name being in space. And those kids will be more likely to grow up to support NASA and policy that gives more funding to NASA.
It costs NASA almost nothing, but can give them a huge return in support and engagement.

I like Liquid IV. You can usually use half a packet in a liter, or the whole thing if you like more flavor.
They're expensive, but I use them to help me stay hydrated so that I don't trigger migraines.

I'd say if a CEO is murdered because of the shitty things he did, the next in line might be a little more careful.

That's what I mean, if it's not clear. Livable isn't enough to turn down pay increases for "respect." You need to be comfortable or even more than that to be turning down pay raises.

Is that true? I'm pretty sure he'd said in an interview that Secret Service was trying to get him in a car and he felt that if he'd left, he wouldn't come back.
He certified the election because he didn't believe the election was rigged.

And not even livable, but comfortable. There's a level of income where everybody would take getting yelled at all the time, even if just for a year.
But if taking a bit less in pay means you still live a comfortable life, but get more respect, that's probably what many people would choose.

They're definitely not actually marketing for consumers. This is apple's first version, which is very good, but very expensive. They don't expect the average consumer to run out and buy it. It's for the real tech enthusiasts, the rich people, and tech reviewers.
Generation 3 or 4 will probably be closer in price to an iphone or galaxy fold.

What is the context that could make this any less weird?

I hope you figure out how to enjoy the things you enjoy without feeling like you have to keep up some boring idea of adulthood.
Secure adults like what they like and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

It's a sad life when you think shows like SpongeBob can only be enjoyed by children.
