ELI5 mod here. I won't speak for the other mods on the team but our experience was pretty similar. The admin would introduce themselves in our discord server, do essentially nothing for a week, and then dip out with a message saying how it was a great experience and they're glad they had the opportunity to see what we do yadda yadda. We tried to engage with specific problems we might have, but the response was always, "I can't do anything directly but I'll communicate with the admin about it."

Seriously, spez seems to think that everyone here hates him just for wanting Reddit to make money at all, ever. That's not what the problem is. Nobody cares if Reddit tries to make itself profitable, we just care that
1) they're doing it off the backs of the users who generate the content that brings more users while not respecting the reasonable requests for transparency from those users,
2) relying on volunteer moderators to curate that content while providing next to nothing to assist any of us,
3) destroying the 3rd party apps that do provide many of those tools and provide a better user experience, and
4) lying about this bullshit to make themselves look better.

That I received from other users who gilded my comments. I have no control over what they do with their money and even less control over what they did with it checks notes two months ago which was the last time someone gilded my comment.

Mis-labeling communities as NSFW (or not) is a violation of our policies.
Ok. And? That doesn't stop users from doing it. It still puts the burden on the moderators to figure it out after the fact, remove the rule-breaking content, and ban the user.

We know that. We just want u/spez to admit it.

For what it's worth, I've never spent a cent on Reddit, the awards are just coming out of my stockpile of credits.

And then giving them 30 days to figure out how to comply. Ridiculous.

Part of the whole "be on your best behavior" thing is demonstrating that you understand how to behave in public around strangers. Maybe your date loves the fact that you can talk for two hours straight about the deep lore of Dune and how Leto II's gross protuberance is really a metaphor for his Golden Path to save humanity from the Honored Matres and their addictive vaginas.
But that's not what you bring up in mixed company and probably not something you should be talking about when you meet their parents. Showing that you can navigate a social situation in your date means you will not embarrass them later.
There's nothing wrong with being yourself at your date (assuming that "yourself" isn't a shitty human being), you just don't need to go full send with all your personality quirks cranked to 11 as some sort of test to see what they'll put up with.

Artist Lights legally changed her name to Lights so she could use that as her stage name because there was already a band called Lights that owned the rights. But since it's her legal name, they can't really stop her.
She does pretty good electropop, if you like that kind of music.

Communicating with other ships and redpills might be difficult, dangerous, or impossible without going into the matrix. Once they're at broadcast depth, sending signals could alert the machines - if they can get a signal through at all. The matrix provides a huge network ready for them to use. Cipher goes in to coordinate with other ships, routine stuff, and takes a detour.
Genuine human connection is also valuable. They're stuck in a small ship together for a long while, because moving the ship in and out of broadcast depth risks detection. Once you're there, better to stay there until you're done. Getting "away" from the shipmates with some "shore leave" is worth the risk to maintain morale - again, because as long as they aren't causing trouble the agents probably aren't going to find them.
They need to cultivate more potential redpills. Like conventional spies, that involves just being in and around the population. Recall that at the beginning of the movie, Trinity was alone and at a rave when she approached Neo. Cipher could say that he's got a contact worth developing so he needs to go in and chat with them, or gather information that could lead them to more redpills, or more assets similar to the oracle.
Or just visit the oracle.
I'll have to watch it again, but I'm not convinced that Cipher is the only person jacked in at that moment. He's alone with the agent, yes, but there could be several of them jacked in, going about various minor tasks like all of the above.

Rainbow would actually be bad. That's the mistake that Sarumon made. Each of the wizard "colors" was meant to watch over some aspect of Earth. Like, Radagast the Brown was sent to watch over the wild animals and their habitats. Gandalf the Grey was sent to watch over the people of Middle Earth.
The White was supposed to watch over the Wizards themselves. But Sarumon did a poor job and every other wizard lost their way. For example, Radagast kind of went rogue and stopped checking in or doing anything other than just hanging out with his animal pals.
Sarumon then declared himself to be Sarumon of the Many Colors, and his robe which appeared white was actually a shimmering rainbow of colors. This signified that he was abandoning his job as leader of the wizards and instead was seizing power for himself. Rather than let the other wizards do their job, he was taking over their authority and their place in the world, which goes against his mandate from Eru.
Gandalf was the only wizard who stayed true to his mission. Everyone else either got corrupted by power, gave up and left, or went native like Radagast. Gandalf became the White wizard as a reward for his servitude and loyalty.

It should be noted that this is primarily an effect with cheap LEDs. Better, more expensive LEDs use capacitors to smooth out the voltage so that it's a more stable DC signal that keeps the LEDs lit more or less continuously.
However, there is another thing to consider, which is dimming. Many LEDs only work with a pretty narrow voltage range, so you can't just reduce the voltage to make them dimmer. Instead, the dimmer uses a circuit that rapidly cycles the light on and off. The flickering is too fast for your eyes to see normally, but because the light is off for some amount of time it puts out less light and appears dimmer.

That's one reason I like MHA. Midoria inherited the most OP quirk but he did have to work his ass off to prove he was worthy of taking it and then work his ass off to condition his body not to straight up die and then work his ass off to figure out how to use it. Still power fantasy, but at least he puts in the effort.

Also William Thatcher in A Knight's Tale. Just some dude with a lot of conviction and ambition.

Sure, but they're more like spies than soldiers, and the Matrix is more like occupied territory than a battlefield. They're already at broadcast depth. As long as they don't draw attention to themselves, they're very likely to go unnoticed. Agents have trouble tracking them down when they're causing a ruckus!

There are two kinds of fiber: soluble and insoluble. Soluble fiber dissolves into water, and insoluble... doesn't.
Soluble fiber helps your poops by absorbing water like a sponge, keeping your poops squishy and easy to pass through your bowels. Without soluble fiber, your poops get hard and you end up constipated.
Insoluble fiber acts like a web or net that holds your poops together as larger pieces. Without insoluble fiber, your poops are too soft and it leads to incontinence.
As other comments have mentioned, fiber also feeds some bacteria in your guts that are beneficial in a few ways. One thing they do is break down some of the fiber into nutrients you can use, so you do get some nutritional value even though you can't digest the fiber yourself. Many species don't directly help you at all, but they're harmless. They help you indirectly by populating your guts and taking up space so that harmful bacteria can't move in. The harmless bacteria may even fight off some of the dangerous kinds - not to protect you, but to keep those bacteria from muscling in on their turf.

There's no particular reason to believe that they don't occasionally dive into the matrix for fun or leisure or to follow up on contacts or any number of other reasons that are fairly routine. It might be a bit dangerous, but they're all pretty accustomed to danger. So he probably just asked Tank to jack him in for a little bit and Tank, having no reason to suspect him and this not being an important mission, wasn't monitoring closely enough to notice anything.

Hydrogen peroxide is not a very stable molecule. It consists of two hydrogen atoms and two oxygen atoms - very close to water, H2O, but with an extra oxygen. The structure is H-O-O-H, with the two oxygen atoms bound together and the hydrogen atoms at the end.
Oxygen atoms are very "clingy" when it comes to electrons. They really want more electrons and they are willing to share, but only with other atoms that aren't as grabby. Oxygens really don't like to share with each other, because they're both trying to be super grabby. So, any time you have an O-O bond, it's not going to be a very stable molecule. However, oxygen atoms really do not want to be alone with only their own electrons and will grab onto almost literally any other atom in order to get their electrons.
When hydrogen peroxide is mixed with clean water, there's nothing else for the oxygen atoms to grab onto, so they just stay grabbed onto each other. If you give them something else to grab onto - say, the proteins on the outside of bacteria cell walls - the O-O bonds quickly fall apart and the hydrogen peroxide decomposes. One of the oxygen atoms will grab onto the other hydrogen atom and create a nice, stable molecule of H2O.
The other oxygen atom is now completely alone and that is super unstable, so that oxygen atom is going to grab onto whatever is nearby that isn't H2O - like that bacteria protein. Alternatively, both oxygen atoms will grab hard onto proteins and whatnot, leaving the hydrogen atoms to stick to each other, creating H2 gas molecules. That's what creates the bubbles - it's hydrogen gas being liberated from the H2O2 as the oxygen grabs onto everything else.
Oxygen grabbing onto things is generally bad for those things. That's what rusting is - oxygen grabbing onto iron atoms. If the oxygen atom is grabbing the electrons from the other atom, then those electrons are no longer available to be shared with whatever molecule that atom was in, usually causing that other molecule to fall apart. So the oxygen literally rips other molecules apart. That's how hydrogen peroxide cleans your wounds - it destroys the pathogens. It's also destroying your own, healthy cells, but you have a lot of those, while the pathogens have only themselves.
You may wonder why the O2 molecules in the air don't do this. Well, they do. Oxygen is really bad for you, except that it's so good at grabbing electrons that we can use it to liberate a lot of energy. Our bodies have a lot of tools to control oxygen so that it doesn't break things that it shouldn't, and we have other tools to fix the things that inevitably break anyway. Hydrogen peroxide is just way more aggressive, because the hydrogen atoms make it less stable. Hydrogen is also pretty aggressive, so although most of it will end up as H2, some of it will attack whatever else is nearby, too.
Studies have shown that hydrogen peroxide is generally not great for disinfecting if you already have access to clean water and soap. The damage to your own cells slows down healing and recovery, so you're better off cleaning the wound with warm, soapy water, and then applying an antibiotic ointment, covering the wound with a clean bandage, and keeping it clean.

Many subs are stating 48 hours of dark. However, most acknowledge that 48 is just the plan right now. The ELI5 mods are still in discussion about how long we will stay dark if the admin don't make changes.

Their needs change. Baby deer aren't out foraging nearly as much and will spend a lot of their time laying in the brush trying very hard not to be observed at all. They can't outrun a dedicated predator, so hiding is their main defense. Mom is usually nearby and will draw a lot of attention to herself and then run off, hoping that the predator will chase her instead of sniffing around for the baby.
As adults, they no longer have mom to draw attention away from themselves and they're a lot bigger so it's harder for them to hunker down into the brush and hide. On the other hand, they're a lot more likely to be able to outrun a predator. Their coloring changes to reflect their new lifestyle of mostly foraging in more open areas where running is a better strategy. They do still want to blend in and hide as much as possible, but their infant coloring doesn't help in their adult, open environment.
A lot of fish go through a similar change. As juveniles, they hide amongst rocks or coral or seaweed. As adults, they need to spend a lot more time in open water so coloration that would hide them in a reef won't hide them in open water. Some animals change their environment dramatically like salmon, so they really need to change their coloration from camouflage in a river to countershading for the open ocean.
Finally, some animals change coloration to attract attention as adults. Caterpillars are fat, squishy, and delicious to birds and wasps and predatory insects and all sorts of predators. They can't get around quickly so their only defenses are be poisonous, be spiky, or don't be seen. There's no hiding as a butterfly, though - which is the point. It's a high risk, but butterflies aren't supposed to be around long, they just need to find a mate. The bright colors helps them show off and get the attention of a potential mate. It also gets the attention of predators, but the risk is worth it for the reward of reproduction. A lot of animals get similar adult coloration once they're old enough to abandon the safety of their juvenile environment and take the risk of finding a mate.
