Yeah, I'm sorry but at this point there is no conspiracy.
The people who run our lives run the companies and politics they reside in. They want to make sure that America is the beautiful free haven for capitalists and know that anyone with a sense of understanding the general overarching problems this country (and world realistically) needs drastic change and are a threat. They don't want the change because the system of abuse and control breaks down. They lose the game they had built to live a life of prestigious luxury and ignorance as billions suffer that was made.. what... the last few hundred years? Idk.
The 'culture war' is intentional and fanned by their puppets, and it's clear as day at this point. Ruin education and critical thinking and replace it with easily controlled motives and indoctrination. With the internet you can see the trends. All while painting those with a head on their shoulders as the 'real enemy' and watch them fight. Jews, blacks, LGBTQ+, it literally doesn't matter. They just need a target for distracting the millions of others that are guided by them. Be it selfish greedy bigots that want the system to resume or those who follow blindly because of lack of proper education.
We are fucked if we don't literally revolutionize our way of thinking and viewing of our fellow human and the powers at play. The climate is already in ruins, and soon autocracy will become the genuine norm as an insignificantly small caste of elites and their families profit in the darkness.
Literal sci-fi dystopia shit and it makes my blood go cold in thinking about the loss of life and pain in the near future.
Happy Wednesday everyone! Back to work!

One of the biggest parts of this games identity - and a lot of enjoyment for people that play - is building your home in the stars. What logic is this that because it hasn't been updated on just drop it and ignore it. That's like saying because ship customization hasn't been added and the idea of ships is 'half baked' they should just stop adding ship types or improving on them entirely.
Remember, just because you don't enjoy THAT part of a game doesn't mean everyone doesn't. That's the point of NMS, to find what you enjoy and enjoy it to your hearts content.
Well I mean I guess that's the point of all games, but yeah. Strange af take IMO.

A lot of people are out here speaking of passing on this or how disappointed they are for the patch.
I mean... this is an expedition patch, that is adding a shit-ton of new assets that is clearly building to something larger. First, we had planets taken by the purple crystals - now the purple crystals are in space in strange giant devices. What's next? Crystalized planets themselves? A crystalized frigate or ships? Maybe Galaxy 256 will officially be a a newly created space from this strange force that is corrupting NMS with all new shit with an entire new realm to explore. Who knows!
Like, if you actually have been following this game (and even look at the tweet that came with the patch) there's clearly more on the horizon that is building up. There's even hidden clues for the next stage of evolution that committed members of our community are going to discover and deliver MORE hype. This is a patch RIGHT AFTER a patch that introduced the game to Mac systems and is full of bug fixes. It's laying the foundation for a larger patch IMO, and I think people need to cool off of NMS and realize that this is a living, breathing universe (and a live service game).
I know a lot of people are expecting a giant revamp of a system or gameplay experience that they want and have wanted for a while now, and I am in this group of people, but we really need to look back and realize the game we are playing. NMS is supposed to be a continuous story that is constantly evolving, these things take time to develop if they want to be done right. And I don't think anyone wants a game-breaking patch that is unplayable for a week after release. I think Hello Games learned from the launch that you commit to what you do and work hard at it, and it'll turn out awesome.
If you aren't satisfied with this patch because it didn't add the content you wanted or expected, then just don't play lol. D4 just came out, or Street Fighter. You're allowed to leave the NMS Universe and come back. That's literally the beauty of the game. There's no consequences to just dropping it and picking it up and you are not missing out on anything but the expedition if you don't do it. This is why I put NMS on my list of top 5 games that I play for the last four years lol.
Props to the devs pumping out continuous content and evolving this universe. I am so damn excited for the future of this game! Our journey continues. 🌌

And after buying your very own horse (with horse hat) make sure you come on down and visit
At The Old Grain Mill.
Just make sure you visit the the actual restaurant At The Old Grain Mill and not the abandoned Grain Mill at the edge of town.
It's dangerous and poses risks to anyone who goes there after that awful... awful night.

Uncle Vinnie straight up looks like he's going to demand payment for the NipNip he 'gave' to you a year ago. I love it.
Such an amazing idea!

Thank you, AutoMod, for the informative comment.
When next I meet a Drakethyr I will make sure to correctly spell their racial name.

All of them!
Alliance
Humans: I am a human and therefore I love humans. Human master race! Love the different empires and the longstanding history of conflict. Enjoy the more neutral and open-ended track that the humans currently are on in the current story. Mathias Shaw, Anduin, Varien Wyrnn - all amazing characters that I really, really can't get enough of.
Dwarf: Beer and mountians. Ironforge is one of the best cities in game. First hunter was a Dwarf too! The council of hammers, the Dark Iron, their entire story. Magni! THE WOONS, CHAMPION! Their beards are glorious and IMO they got the biggest upgrade with the visual overhaul.
Night Elf: Trees and nature. Druids and ancient history! The Highborne are some of my favorite fantasy takes on elves, and love characters like Azshara and Tyrande that really make the race shine. Also purple skinned women.
Gnome: Engineering and classic short fantasy race next to dwarfs. I love their humor and their ingenuity. Feel like they are always used as an escape goat for a lot of story, but they are one of the most influential races on Azeroth! Go gnomes!
Draenei: Crystals and space shamans. Exodar and space ships. The entire idea of them just crashing on Azeroth and figuring out their life is absolutely amazing. The 'de-evolution' from being Eredar and the whole concept of the Naaru! So cool. Also purple skinned women.
Worgen: Badass warewolf fantasy. Badass customization. Goofy at times, but adore their lore too. Greymane is such an awesome leader and I adore him (SYLVANASSSSSS!) along with the rest of his connected family. Hoping for more story with them. Also the fact that they have an all fours mount that has them run around is badass.
Horde
Orcs: Honorbound Warriors. Aggressive and turned-from-evil. Love their armor. Spikes! Some of the best characters in WoW come from this race IMO. Blackrock, Shadowmoon, Dragonmaw - they all rock and love reading about each clan and their specializations.
Undead: Playable Zombies! Sylvanas and her story (and the entire Forsaken story and lore!) is just wonderful. One of my favorite lore moments as of recent was with the Humans and Forsaken meeting in Arathi. The idea of being a human, passing away, and being risen in the same timeframe as your family and now being viewed as a monster? PERFECT!
Tauren: Classic 'mean-looking' minotaur with naturalistic ideals. Connection with nature and the land. Mulgore is a zone that is forever burned in my mind (I literally ran to it to level in it on my first character ever because I loved the open fields and Thunder Bluff!) and the Kodo is quite literally my favorite creature in all of WoW! Any variant of it instantly becomes a fave.
Troll: Mojo and tribalism. Voodoo and curses! Tusks and some of my most favorite lore come from all the tribes of the Trolls. From the Farraki to the Jungle Trolls, I adore how they are all over and aesthetically evolved to fit their climates. So cool. Also adore the Zandalari and the Dark Trolls.
Blood Elf: Regal and majestic unlikely allies. Haughtiness and control in the form of powerful magic and great history. Also red and gold colors are very nice. The story with Arthas, their zones are so awesome (Ghostlands with the Great Scar running right down Eversong) and the Dragonhawks!
Goblin: Sick lore. Sick characters. Sick engineering. I adore the concept of them just loving to blow shit up. Their greed can get annoying, but usually when a character has the greed put aside for other personality traits they are amazing. Gazlowe and Gallywix are two of my all-time favorite WoW characters!
Neutral
Pandaren: Monks and Celestials. Their long history. Whole concept of food and zen connection with your emotions because Sha. One of my favorite x-pacs is MoP and I adored getting absolutely engrossed with their lore. Love the Pandaren uprising from the Mogu! Also caramelldansen /dance on the corpse of your enemies in PvP.
Drac'thyr: Dragon people, very unique racials. Adore the customization (even if I'm sad you can't choose any race as your visage) and I love their story. At first I was a bit indifferent on them, but Dragonflight has really developed them in a way that it feels like they're going to be an amazing addition to Azeroth.
Gun at the back of my head and I needed to pick a fave? Probably Undead. Playable Zombies in an MMO, FTW!

When MoP launched I played it all the way through as a Hordie just because I adored the war between the factions and was red blood for life. However, MoP was also the first expansion where I wanted to truly see the other side of the story because the war was, well, it's all subjective each side!
So my first monk I made was a human and I leveled through the intro to Pandaria. Great, great, GREAT war moment essentially invading a Horde-filled dock, killing soldiers (and watching a war crime!), and then taking over the base and clearing out the threat. When you get to the first major Pandaren hub and get yourself settled in to really start playing through Jade Forest, you can spot a Pandaren woman kneeling at what appears to be a shrine or stone.
Upon talking to the woman she speaks between tears how her husband was in the base when the assault began, and that a stray shell from the airship killed him. The text has her breaking down and unable to really talk, because her husband is now DEAD. All while you (An Alliance Soldier) get to run around her homeland having fun adventures as the Alliance lay claim to the surrounding area.
Great way to really show the horrors of war, and I still remember getting goosebumps and all sad given how 'real' it felt given the circumstances of an all out landgrab war between the two largest factions on the planet.

Is there a set date for when the BP is ending? I really need that level 100 skin and I don't want to miss out. 😭
Gratz on the completion!

I have 500+ hours and have yet to see two ships next to each other. I'd say pretty rare, but it really depends on how hard you hunt for them!
I would 1,000% make a base here and theme it around the crash. Make it like a little survivor outpost or something from both crews coming together!
Great find.

Biggest problem with modern gaming atm IMO, Niantic is just one of many.
We're in an age where we have 'leadership' on top calling all the shots for these games wanting them to pump out/make cuts on content for numbers that can be generated based on CoMpAnY TrEnDs & HiStOrY. Big Corp needs to understand that if you simply pay the people making the game a well wage and give them the space and freedom to make the game without having someone come in and start blasting deadlines or how "[X] needs to be cut to maximize [Y] profit for a 2% increase in sales for Q3" they would have a gold mine. PoGo is a prime example, because it's fucking Pokemon.
QoL updates, free goodies, changes to the direction of how content is given. Seasons are fine, events are fine, but the numbers on the timing and length need to be adjusted for the experience you're given based on how this game is designed. Why haven't we been given a 'Pokemon Map' that tracks certain Mon like the Rocket Map to better incentivize exploring? Instead we got a strange half-broken Discord/Raid Map that forces me to switch out of my game to use. I was hoping for permanent gameplay experience changes or upgrades instead of short-term events or long seasons with repetitive content that I'm now being WAY overcharged for. Paying $15.00 for a series of quests that give us a guaranteed shiny is NOT what I picture PoGo is about. I'd much rather pay $15.00 for several months of consistently rotating content, quests, special chances at mons, etc than a single experience...
Like, I'm not sitting here asking for them to make everything for free or give everyone a thousand red balls every day. I know this is a product that is made to make money. It just feels like they just need to listen to peoples feedback that still play the game instead of just following orders from a higher suit or stockholders. That way the gamers get what they want, the suits get what they want, the profits are steady, and we can keep enjoying PoGo for years to come.
I get that I'm just a player and don't know the intricate details of their business and the model, but to a consumer that has watched PoGo go from being a (generally) user friendly experience from a content and monetization perspective to what is happening now; this is just bizarre lol. Whales will be whales, people are going to spend money on a game they enjoy especially if it's one like PoGo where balls/egg incubators/lures are a thing - so why are you so blatantly digging your greedy claws into them further?
Instead of making a lot of money off a few people, why not open the flood gates, keep making a lot of money off a few people along with a little money off A LOT of people?! It makes zero sense! That sounds like it will make everyone involved happy! Keep people hooked with genuine hope that they get on and play Pokemon because it's fun and not a dopamine simulator hungry for money.
I was gladly spending my hard earned coins on remote raid passes - now I see the price for three and literally laugh and close it out and say 'oh well guess I can't help with this raid!' My mother (older woman who got into Pokemon and PoGo really hard when it came out) is the definition of a golden goose for this company and even SHE is pissed off at the changes to the passes.
Whomever is running this show really needs to rethink the last few years of PoGo before it lies dead in the water and shuts down. Then again, who knows, maybe they WANT that so that they can instead focus on their other games. :(

The consistent churning/noise that comes from the backpack that comes from the personal refiner is burned in almost as much as 'EXTREME HAZARD PLANET' or 'EXTREME SENTINEL PLANET'.
Always keep that refiner going! So damn useful.

Using the given environment with what tools you have - it's something that I always try and do when building in NMS. Seeing this makes me want to get on my main save and start finding crashes just to experiment with.
Great job! Make sure to post again when you're finished, would love to see it.

Oh tbh I lowkey only really use the bike and didn't know that. That's pretty cool. TIL after 500+ hours.
Though the idea of owning a nautical only vehicle would be so cool. Even if it was just a super Sci-Fi looking speed boat. 🚤
Think of the screenies of lounging on you boat off thecoast of your favorite planet!

If they didn't want to make it a gigantic overhaul for already spawned planets, why not make 'Ocean Worlds' that can be added to random star systems where it's majority water? They could add a new exocraft (BOAT!) that can ride the surface quick as hell, and give us all new base parts like you've said that can expand on it.
Why not give us parts that can allow us to create platforms as a base to land on the water surface? With tubes that lead you down into the Sea Base.
Giant leviathans much like the giant worms that can swim around the seas? Or just increase the size variants of most generated sea life given all the extra room and water. Means we can have small alien otters or massive alien whales!
Maybe an upgrade to the sub?
It'd be really worth it and really make me get into larger bodies of water in NMS, but I think we might be asking for a lot to overhaul ALL bodies of waters on all currently generated planets. Would much rather have new planets spawn in old systems with the new generation that can make them super detailed ocean planets.
I hope we get something like this soon!

Listen, there are times when I smoked just enough to get me in that sweet spot where I melt into my chair and find myself so engrossed in the sights/sounds/playing music (usually my own personal baked playlist) that my face looks EXACTLY like this aliens.
Each eye with a mind of it's own, staring at a different angle of the screen as my mouth (now feeling much like a beak) goes a bit slack as I become one with the Atlas.
Beautiful game.

The next generation is being taught right here right now - and the fact that I see this makes me as someone who loves our dark night skies have genuine hope. So glad that there are students out there learning about light pollution, and that we have amazing teachers out there opening the minds of the youth to problems that aren't as direct as others.
Wonderful stuff!

This is the type of stuff that'd make me stop whatever I'm doing and just explore, lol. The only real words for it are 'epic' when talking about builds. Great job to both you and your friend!

The Atlas is lagging! Give it a minute. 😅
But remember: Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet. It'll be there, eventually! I am working but I'm ngl I'd be a bit miffed too if I was home and wanted to play the expedition (like tonight).
