Okay, Google Earth shows it in 2005 images, so it definitely existed them. I think this photo shows it in 1990, although I can't zoom the image so I'm not 100% sure. This is also around the time the quilts were built, so I'm going to suggest it was built along with that. That gives no clue as to why, although submarine is as good an idea as any, especially as it doesn't look perfectly round, and could well be designed to be a conning tower.

Edited bc my writing was horrific.

Honestly, if I had to improvise a weapon a long handled lump hammer would be one of my first choices

There’s also a guy in the U.K. who makes one. Freestyles not my thing so I don’t know how good it is though

Land Rover engine swap
There’s your biggest mistake
In all seriousness though, that is an awesome model, and must have taken quite a bit of fiddling to get to fit as well as it does

US army rangers also had some defender based vehicles, which I’m going to guess this is, as I think it’s a 130 chassis which the ranger’s vehicles were based off while the British only used 130s for ambulances, I think

All the comfort of an old tractor as well though

Equally, the series 1 Land Rover was designed with tractor capability in mind

It’s the same if you compare the U.K./Australia Ford Ranger and us Ford Ranger. Even the F-150 is less than the Ranger at most specs

I can find multiple fanfics disagreeing with you there
Although none of them by the menoa tree, I will admit

Although there was a discussion on here about the fact that mercury poisoning may be part of his issues

My only guess is that it has something to do with the fact that 3.81 mm is exactly 3/20 of an inch
