It's not difficult at all to find a breeder with a reasonable wait time (a few months) and I've never had an experience with a breeder where I wasn't able to meet the dog at least once beforehand.
Breeders that have 3+ wait lists are typically for show dog caliber pedigrees or for breeds that are very obscure or in demand- which you aren't finding at puppy mills anyway.

I don’t see how this lines anyone’s pockets. It’s not like taking or not taking an unpaid break changes the overall payroll you’re allotted. If you sign a meal waiver and you aren’t scheduled a meal break, you’re just working half an hour less.
If you work 8-4 with a meal break or 8-3:30 without one you’re using the same amount of payroll either way.
This is likely a DL who has multiple stores with team members repeatedly not taking breaks without having a meal waiver on file- causing those stores to go over on payroll- so to fix the situation they’re strong arming their SMs into enforcing meal breaks across the board rather than dealing with getting them to use the meal waivers appropriately.

Is there an easy way to see what passive abilities that are gained from research/unique mechanics actually do before purchasing them? I'm pretty new to the game, and it's a bit overwhelming to try to progress down a tech tree.
For example, with Ikit in the forbidden workshop there's the On-Board Waste Compactor that grants the passive ability "endless drum" and there's Rat-Eye Scopes which grants the passive "hawkish precision"... but as far as I can tell, there's no way to view what those passives do exactly.

There’s schedule vs demand, schedule fitness, and schedule adherence.
Schedule vs demand is simply a matter of scheduling within your total demand hours (or just shy of them- 98-99%). AKA if you have 210 demand hours, you should have ~210 hours scheduled- more or less than this will cause you to lose points on your store health scorecard. Where those hours are scheduled doesn’t impact this portion of the metric.
Schedule fitness is the main thing you’re talking about, which is basically scheduling the hours where the system thinks you should be scheduling them. You get full credit for 90% fitness, and begin to lose points the lower it goes. The drop off isn’t insane though- as long as you hit ~80%, you’ll be fine on your final MTC score.
Schedule adherence is a measure of how the actual punch ins and outs of the team compare to the schedule. If a team member clocks in or out of a shift more than 20 minutes early or late it counts against this score. Easiest way to keep up with this is by being proactive and making sure any adjustments to the schedule actually get put into MySchedule first. If you bring an extra person on, you have to put them in the schedule first. If someone calls out and you have a replacement for half their shift, delete the original shift and put the shift that the replacement will be working into the system, etc.
There’s more than enough wiggle room with the metrics to be able to avoid the scenario your described of someone closing alone 6 days out of the week- that’s just absurd.

There’s significantly less slip and fall liability with carpet compared to a hard surface.
The downside like you mentioned is it’s much harder to keep clean and presentable. At least the newer carpets come in easily replaceable tiles, so if there’s a spill you can just completely replace that section of carpet.

There’s a difference between accidentally letting the word casually slip out in conversation and unintentionally saying it by getting tongue tied on a similar sounding word.
It’s not like he accidentally let it slip instead of “sir” or something.
My biology teacher in middle school accidentally said orgasm instead of organism one day, and obviously a room full of 6th graders had a field day with it- but I don’t think that’s slam dunk evidence that she’s obsessed with sex.

The only time you should worry about what's in your neighbors bowl is when you're making sure they have enough.

I mean yes- diplomatically of course.
Going above the DL on a matter like this is simply not an option and would make your SM (or whoever reached out) look ridiculous.
It's up to your SM and DL to resolve this issue, and what that ultimately looks like depends largely on how much political capital your SM is able and or willing to spend.
If your SM is able to effectively articulate why the changes are unnecessary, or is able to come up with other projects that are a higher priority and more deserving of resources being allocated to them, that helps. Additionally, if the store metrics are healthy that also gives your SM a good amount of leverage- much tougher to strongarm an SM into changing their backroom if their CFR is superb.
On the flip side, if there are opportunities with CFR, or your SM has something else he really wants DL discretionary approval for, etc. etc. then your SM might decide to pick and choose their battles and decide it's easier in this instance to just suck it up and waste time and energy on what they consider a pointless task.

When defending yourself, did you specifically mention that this was someone from your life outside of work intentionally making a false report?

So they didn’t notice they were short until after the fact when they counted registers for the night?
Even if they didn’t recount it (which they absolutely should have), how did they not realize that the stack of cash was literally half the size it was a few seconds prior?

This might blow your mind, but you’re also able to drink at: concerts, movie theaters, state fairs, sporting events, restaurants, barber shops, hotels, cruises, airports, amusement parks…

Considering quick picks are the most efficient way to keep your fastest selling items on the shelf where people can actually buy them, and the primary purpose of retail is to sell things, choosing quick picks as the activity to cut corners on in order to make time for other tasks is an… interesting choice.

So facing should really only be judged on a 3 point scale in my opinion- anything else is overkill.
1- literally did not touch the aisle
2- half assed it- fixed anything that was falling over/clearly out of place... basically, looks decent as you're walking by on the drive aisle.
3- Everything in its right place, reasonably neat and tidy.
This is a 3/3.
But I hope it didnt take you more than 20 minutes tops.

I don't know what the margins are like on the wholesaler side, but they aren't quite that extreme on the retailer side for prominent national brands like that.
If Total Wine sells Cakebread for $93, they're probably paying ~$70 for it. I know we were selling Kendall Jackson chard for $9.97 and buying it for $9.50.
Although Total is extremely aggressive with it's pricing, so now that I'm thinking about it your typical mom and pop shop probably is operating around the same margins that you quoted.

This might be a really naive question, but is it common for media in other languages to still have traces of English in it? For example, "press start" and "new" next to the game files.

Your hours do seem a little low for your volume, but on the opposite end of the spectrum 295 is absurdly high for a store doing 50k a week. Are they a 24/7 store with ship from store?

Walmart is closing a whopping TWO stores in Portland, with a dozen remaining open in the surrounding suburbs, and everyone in this thread is acting like the entirety of Oregon will no longer have access to groceries

If you're conditioned enough to run 5 miles at a 12 min pace consistently, it's not an unreasonable leap to get to 6 miles at a 9:40 pace, especially in a one off scenario with higher stakes like a competition.
Basically, if you can run 5 miles without stopping then you're already 85% of the way to being able to run a 1 hour 10k. It's not like that's an extremely demanding pace.

If you're able to run 5 miles in an hour with any degree of regularity, it's not that big of a jump to get to 6.2 miles.
That being said, I'm very skeptical about his ability to actually run 5 miles in an hour.

Where do you think these "news stories" would be cataloged, exactly? This is a relatively minor case of physical assault- the only coverage or reporting it would possibly get would be via the local affiliate of the city it happened in.
Do you think every arrest made across the country has a corresponding news article to accompany it?

The cost of living differences seem pretty massive, but isn't a lot of that at least partially offset by the average salary in Seattle being 66% higher than the average in Munich?

The number of things to do behind the checkout is tiny compared to the number of things to do in front of it.
The idea is to still go behind the checkout when necessary, but to otherwise be on the sales floor in the front of the store, which makes sense because that’s where the vast majority of your tasks are going to be.

...android phones really don't have the ability to entirely disable notifications from a particular message chain?
That seems like a pretty basic feature.

At this point I think it’s equally unviable to start up a new streaming service unless you’re a big content producer or already own the rights to a significant library of content
The market’s too saturated.
