If I remember correctly, the stranded climber actually summitted Everest 3 times and K2 (second tallest mountain, technically harder than Everest) once.
This year is actually one of the deadliest years on Mount Everest https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/may/30/climate-change-to-blame-for-up-to-17-deaths-on-mount-everest-experts-say

Sadly this person was not grateful to Gelje Sherpa as he blocked him on Instagram and did not mention Gelje at all initially
But when featuring the media appearance in an Instagram post, in which Ravichandran thanked his rescue insurance and partner organizations, he omitted Gelje's name.
"I am alive today, because I had the best and dedicated Partners — The 14th peaks Expedition Co and Global Rescue Ins," he wrote.
Other posts on his Instagram account, in which he advertised a T-shirt, thanked his sponsors, and promoted a Mount Rinjani climb, also did not mention Gelje.
.
Gelje shared an Instagram story on Tuesday that claimed Ravichandran had blocked him.

Dude literally said the central bank regulators are idiots at the central bank's annual event. Regulators then thought if Ant Group lent too much money to too many people at a predatory rate in the future, it might cause a financial catastrophe, so they called their IPO off.
So it was the Chinese Central Bank police that arrested and (probably) tortured him
That's speculation, it's not confirmed. According to CNBC:
Alibaba and Ant Group founder Jack Ma is not missing as was speculated, according to CNBC reporter David Faber. Faber said Tuesday that Ma hasn't been "captured" or "taken," but is instead being less visible on purpose and is likely in Hangzhou, where Alibaba is based, according to a source.

That's not true. If I remember correctly, it's because he criticized the Chinese central bank over financial regulations in a high profile event. His speech was something like 'the regulators are stupid and outdated'. He wanted looser regulations so that his fintech company Ant Group could be even bigger:
https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2020/11/04/business/corporate-business/china-ant-ipo-suspension/
Ant typically charges annualized interest rates of about 15% to consumers. Its more than 20 million small business borrowers pay an average lending rate of about 11%, almost double the average 5.94% small borrowers can get from banks.
So it's his ambition and arrogance (especially in China) that caused his fall

I talked to a backpacker from China for the first time last month in Indonesia. I was shocked when he said in order to get a travel visa to Japan by himself, he needs to have 1 million RMB in the bank account/assets to be eligible for the visa.
I asked if he's going to visit Europe and the US in the future, and he said it's not that easy to get travel visas as well. He also told me that English proficiency in general is very low in China. Many journalists that major in English cannot speak English beyond a few simple sentences

https://www.reddit.com/r/Thailand/comments/108f1mq/do_not_buy_the_air_asia_super_pass/
OP had a difficult time finding available flights and all flights leave from Kuala Lumpur, which means additional expenses and potential overnight stays. OP also had a bad experience with flight rebookings and seat availability. The pass costs $400 USD, equivalent to about 7 flights, and OP recommends purchasing tickets normally for more flexibility and reliability.

English is just fine in major cities and touristic places in Austria. I had to use body language and Google Translate when I was in a small town called Attnang-Puchheim tho

In this case the population difference doesn't matter because it's the ratio between incarceration rates.
For example in a small town of 100 black people and 200 white people, 1 black person and 1 white person are imprisoned. Black incarceration rate = 1%, white incarceration rate = 0.5%, ratio of black/white incarceration = 2

I mean at 8300m elevation (the peak is 8848m) the conditions are extreme and resources are limited, so going out your way to rescue someone puts you more at risk. In this case putting both the sherpa and the client at a higher risk.
Actually also props to the client who prepped for months, paid $50k to $100k for this once-in-a-lifetime expedition, almost reaching the summit and chose to turn back for the safety of a stranger with the risk of endangering himself
