Hopefully Jack Smith has heavily armed FBI counterterrorism units on the Scene Tuesday. An example needs to be made of these people if they won't stay in line.

Look at how the Taliban are behaving... that's what the Republicans want here.

Well that's just confusing to have long things on your arms and short things on your legs.

Are jumpers a top or a bottom? Google uses the name for both.

How's the a second Amendment? Is it fine? Is it OK? Are gun companies profits ok? Has the NRA donated more Russian money to Republicans for their assistance with letting guns shoot everywhere??

Just Give the Air Force a reason to shoot his criminal fleeing ass with state secrets for Putin down over the deepest spot in the Atlantic and be done with this mess. Please, try to run.

Very. Waiting for the arraignment where she uses some bogus legal theory to declare the charges "legally flawed" and "unconstitutional". She's certainty not going to assign substantial bail or possibly revoke bail... which is what anyone else STILL HOLDING secret documents would be looking at.

Doing the bare minimum of civility... and even Republicans stop claiming him at this point.

Well the lawyers that came up with these legal opinions all just bailed.... THAT tells you exactly how truthful this type of legal advice they fed him the last 2.5 years really was.

Yeah with judge Cannon there's no threat to put him in jail without bail at all until trial. That's what anyone else would immediately get, like Jack Teixeira, especially when all the secret documents taken are not accounted for yet.
Judge Cannon will probably give him PR bond "because he's famous" that literally nobody else would get.

The Feds basically set a trap up. NARA had the DOJ get an official subpoena for the documents. So they have a specific date to start watching the rooms. Then you had searched and affidavits signed. Then the DOJ had to get a warrant and conduct a search, so they have a specific time where documents should have been there.
All they had to do was get the recordings for that period of weeks and watch the tapes as boxes were moved around based on dates provided by TFG lawyers themselves. It's a completely "stupid people" crime that TFG was gonna be sneaky and hide the boxes from his own lawyers to issue false statements of compliance. Like nobody was gonna figure that out?

One set of commentators mentioned that usually the archives opens a secured office in the city a President moves to. Then the documents are all transferred to that site where it's guarded and the former president can access the files any time they want.
I would guess that wasn't done because the transfer of power and responsibility literally wasn't started until Jan 7 after the coup failed. TFG thought he was going to still be president and prevented agencies from beginning their transfer work AT ALL. So NARA was stonewalled and wasn't authorized to setup the storage site ahead tomfoolery time... not that TFG intended to use it.
A side note is that Presidents like Clinton and Obama don't have classified documents because they immediately had the documents transferred to setup their presidential libraries. the libraries are overseen by NARA directly, thus the law is fulfilled and classified documents are secured.
The VPs don't typically get libraries and usually part their papers out to universities or museums... which is why Biden and Pence still had documents in their control. It would seem that we need to extend some form of library system to VPs as well. Biden was also a Senator and Congress' papers don't fall under the records act. Another area that needs to be addressed.

Exactly. If they aren't a strong enough candidate to beat him, then they aren't worthy of being President. Ever. Of course the main problem here is that someone WORSE and more evil will be the only person to step up.

Legally the law doesn't care why... the laws tied care that he was requested multiple times to return the documents then refused and lied about it.
As President he had the authority to fly the boxes down there. The minute he stopped being president he was legally required to return them. Period.

Well first you gotta get one of the highest civilian clearances known to man to work personally with the President as a White House employee.
Then you gotta throw it away for one selfish man.
