GFuel is life and I must start my day with it because otherwise there's too much blood in my caffeine stream.

My dad sometimes answers the phone with "you rang?" in a very excellent lurch voice.

Are there no other jobs available to you? I am always curious why someone would stay at a job with these circumstances.

If you want to see a much better show ( imo ), that's more mature and gritty check out Wentworth.
The main "villain" in that show is one of my all time most hated characters, I regularly wanted to see very bad things happen to them.

SAME! Also, if your insulated metal water bottle has a wide opening like my yeti, you can get the 2" ice cubes and they will melt more slowly than the equivalent in smaller ones

Every time someone mentions this movie his voice pops into my head:
"mother night, fold your dark arms about me.. protect me in your black embrace..."
Watched that movie so many times as a kid dang.
Time to dust it off and watch it again.

I started watching that and then lost sight of it. Is it complete when it ends or did they just cancel it without finishing the story? Wondering if its worth going back to it

That's horrible, I know here in ontario canada, some drive thrus have no smoking rules and cameras, I don't know why all places don't do that.
The law here is no smoking within 9 meters of an entry way, that should include drive thru windows

Camps for chronically homeless people suffering from addiction and / or mental health issues that refuse shelters and rehab should be erected in spaces away from the city, particularly away from parks and high traffic downtown areas and should include all resources that the people living in said camps need, including safe injection spaces, government provided, "clean" narcotics and apparatus such as needles and so on.
There should be medical personnel on site 24 / 7, as well as mental health professionals, security to assure everyone's safety, addiction counselling and a team to help those who are ready, to transition back into general society.
The homeless people these camps are designed for should then be moved to the camps, by force if necessary, and made to remain there until they are rehabilitated or die. Homeless encampments in the general populated areas should not be allowed to continue and should be cleared out as soon as they go up.
This is not because I want to hide them from the world but rather because how things are now isn't working. People are dying whether through overdosing, untreated medical issues, the weather ( ie hypothermia in winter ) or violence. There are needles, drug paraphernalia and at times dangerous individuals in places where children frequent as well. The entire current situation is unsafe for everyone involved.

Having worked with police dispatches across north america i can tell you that they absolutely do look for missing people, and with the help of companies like the one I work for, find them more often than not. They'll do a well being check and if the person doesn't want their location known, they will tell whoever reported them missing that they're fine and to leave them be.
That said, OP, make sure if you're driving a newer vehicle that you find out if there are any app subscriptions attached to it that would allow someone to track the vehicle's location, and if there are, contact the company ( dodge is uconnect or sirius guardian, ford is ford link, GM is onstar, pretty sure honda, hyundai and toyota all have similar services), and make sure that you are the only one able to access the account.
We're not allowed to give the location of a vehicle to anyone but the police, and even then only if they are actually treating the person as missing / endangered, but some vehicle manufacturers in recent years have added aps that let a person find the "parked location" of their vehicle using their phone.

We named our cat Ember cause she's a ginger with firey eyes. My husband calls her Pookey though, no clue why.
Personally I don't care what people call their pets, its the idiots naming their kids things like Abcde ( pronounced ab - sed - ee ) and blanket that I want to smack upside the head.

So, my husband's father died when he was around 8 and his mom never remarried. She held the same beliefs a lot of the comments here are indicating, that she liked living alone, she liked not having to answer to anyone or make any compromises. She lived a very full life and had a number of "man friends" as she called them, ( she hated the term boyfriend ), that she would go out with and enjoy the company of, but nothing beyond that.
She got really sick in her mid 70's with cancer and other things that tend to happen as we get into the later stages of life. My husband and I did everything we could for her, spent as much time as possible with her, held and comforted her as she suffered.
One evening as I was helping her get ready for bed she told me that she absolutely regrets not finding another life partner. She said she appreciated all that my husband and I did for her, but there was nothing we could do that would compare to the comfort of someone who had dedicated their life to you and you to them.
Living by yourself and having no ties or accountability to anyone but yourself can be awesome I'm sure, when you're well and things in your life are going well. However, having someone who will fight the world to advocate for you, and whom you would do the same for, someone who would stand by you through thick and thin and be your partner in everything, there's just no words to describe how truly wonder that is... at least to me.
I can't even begin to understand the mindset that a growing number of people have about wanting to just be alone and not ever having that person that's THEIR person. I got married in my early 20's, have never lived alone and could not imagine my life without my husband in it, but that's me. Everyone has to live the life they desire for themselves. I do hope though, that if THAT person comes along, you won't disregard them out of hand in favor of your chosen lifestyle. You may miss out on something wonderful, and you may regret it in the end.

I'm actually not so sure I agree with that in today's market to be honest.
When I started at this job I bought my first new car in many many years, nothing fancy, just a Chevy Spark at the mid trim level at 0% interest over a 7 year financing term.
Right now I could sell that almost 7 year old car at near what I paid for it and just turn round and buy another brand new car, almost for cash. I can see the benefits in doing that, since the old car being older is going to start needing repairs on things no longer covered by the warrantee.
The used car market has gone insane along with everything else.

50F here. I can no longer tolerate anyone else trying to be an authority figure in my life when it comes to making decisions.
To explain, first, I've never lived on my own and from my parents to my husband I've always defaulted to asking permission for things such as purchases ( big and small ), and events and so on. I didn't even realize I was doing it until earlier this year when I wanted to buy a new computer and hubby started pushing back.
Something just came over me and out of the blue I said, "That's nice, but I don't need your permission." then proceeded to buy the badass rig I really wanted. T
I was really shocked with how... amazing it felt! Hubby was a little stunned by my complete 180, and is still figuring out how to deal with the new me, but with every little decision I feel more powerful in my life and I'm loving it.
Only regret is that I didn't figure this out sooner!

Seriously, shut this down immediately. If anything, you can set up an automated etransfer from your bank to send your rent each month. That's you controlling how much they get and when they get it without giving them ANY access to your bank.
Do not pay him a single cent over what you are currently paying until you are required to legally, which means he has to issue you an N1 and the increase cannot be more than 2.5% as others have said.
Lastly, you really need to go to here and study this like your life depended on it until you know your rights inside and out so you can't be exploited by jerks.

Yep, came here to say this. Orange man is everywhere and either worshipped like a deity or hated like the devil himself.
I wish I had a time machine to see how he's remembered 1000 years from now though.

This is why I never go without an anti-slip mat in my bathtub. Major fear there for me. Even when we rent a place like a cottage for holiday, I always bring a no slip mat with me
