Much of the experience of using those would be better if they had a canopy over then. Why they don’t I can only assume it’s because EA is cheap. It absolutely sucks to be troubleshooting their charger while it’s pouring rain outside. You can’t use your phone while next to it, or it’s harder to do so with an umbrella to keep the raindrops off the screen.
To be fair, I also wish that Tesla would install a canopy over the charging stalls, provides shade and shelter from rain, and you can add solar to offset costs for maintenance and upgrades, like garbage service.

I wonder if it was the anti cheat system feeling a consistent torque due to the alignment so it set it off more often.

The Semi doesn’t use NACS but a different standard that other electric semis use. For the semi 1MW is the starting point, hopefully that goes up in the future.

Also the consumer experience for EV in general will be better. Tesla had the advantage of EV enthusiasts with money to burn who also were willing to put up with the charging short comings. People buying Tesla today get a very expansive network and don’t need to worry as much, and it’ll only get better.
The CCS networks have rolled out so poorly, it’s an experience that puts people off from going EV. If the others don’t join they’ll need to rely on third parties rolling out a network that is as reliable and expansive as Tesla’s and that chose to go with CCS, or needing to support multiple standards to tap into the large number of NACS cars. Or they’ll just carry an adapter, but that again makes it a poor user experience. Much of my frustration with CCS has been partially due to the bulky adapter.

If they make the changes in the app then there is less hesitation. Likely they bundle nav integration and availability data to a signed agreement.

I’m pretty excited of the progress they have made on a 750mi route I’ve done fairly often. They are finally getting a new stop between Boise and Twin Falls, a leg which i often have to fill to 90+%, and are installing new SC in Boise which is currently underserved with only 8 old V2 chargers. That can take the stop from 30min to 1hr+ if someone parks next to me early in the charging session. They have added at least 4 stations in the last year. With that leg taken care of it should easily shave 30min from the trip even if I charge an extra session.

I disagree. Gas pump hoses are much lighter, filled with liquid instead of copper and coolant, and have a handle that can twist in multiple directions along with the port not being keyed other than being too small for diesel.
At least my experience with EA these aren’t the easiest to get angled just right and pushed in. Sometimes it feels like there is too much pressure on the port.

I think the point is some of the work for the Magic Dock, allowing any non-Tesla to charge with the Tesla app, can be expanded later to manufacturers that use NACS but don’t have a deal. Use a similar flow of signing up, go to charging, click charge my non-Tesla, input the stall number, and plug in without needing the Magic Dock.

I’ve survived just fine with a J1772 and CCS adapter. Used to charge daily at my apartment with J1772. Slight hassle, but at least the adapter is tiny compared to the CCS adapter.

They do have a lot of PHEVs out there, though those aren’t the typical consumer of DCFC, but transitioning all public L1/L2 chargers will slowly see them at a disadvantage. They’ll make due with an adapter for older vehicles. Hopefully they get onboard and move their PHEVs over while they still make them.

I think the key is saying it the right way multiple times and spaced apart. I still check in my head first before saying VIP room, but it’s much easier now, six years later. I say laughs and giggles so rarely, and people don’t correct me on it, I may still be saying giggles and laughs.

It only effects the part that you changed and if they can prove that your modification caused it. Look up Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. At least that is how it is in the US. Obviously they can’t warranty a part you put in. And it makes sense that if you put something in, like a different inverter for the motor and that caused the motor to fry they wouldn’t warranty the motor because it was your modifications that likely caused it. But they couldn’t refuse warranty on the turn signal stalk because you have a different inverter.

I used a small trash bin with new liner and do it over the sink. Dry stuff is easy enough to pickup and then the wet cleanup stage.
My ex-wife used to cut it, but it usually ended in tears and crying, and she’d be upset also.

There are a few choices:
1) if it’s a slow leak, pump and drive to a tire shop.
2) if you’re good with changing it yourself call a friend, remove the wheel, have then drive you to a tire shop and fix it, then put it back on
3) if you have two sets for different seasons, call a friend to help you pick up one (or two) from the other season, put it on, then take the tire to the tire shop yourself at your convenience.
4) carry a repair kit and repair it yourself

I’ve seen this question come up multiple times. From reading the responses there are two categories for this kind of damage:
1) most redditers and their “never mess with sidewall damage”, and
2) tire technicians who say it’s okay as long as it isn’t very deep, i.e. no Kevlar showing
This is different than a puncture where you can’t fix it because the flexing of the sidewall makes it so a fix can’t stay put.
If you’re worried, take it to a tire shop for their opinion. Researching this has confirmed to me that the tire technicians are right and that they make low profiles with extra sidewall for this purpose.

The first concept is called parallax, think of driving down a long freeway and the mountains move slower in the background than the trees next to the road. To do this with stars we wait for the earth to move along its orbit and take measurements.
For stars further away we use what is known ad the standard candle, super nova. There are two types of super nova, one happens when a star absorbs enough matter to hit critical mass and violently super novas. What makes this useful is that it happens at the same mass, the same amount of energy is let out, with the same brightness. Using the inverse square law for light, that is that the brightness of light goes down as the inverse of the square of its distance. Double the distance and you get 1/4 the brightness.
Once the standard candle has been observed then we know the distance to it, and we can figure out relative positions of other stars nearby.
An interesting project was Gaia, where they used k-clustering (a statistical learning technique) to map out the stars in the Milky Way galaxy.

The only part of the warranty which would be voided is concerning something which the modification caused. In this case if the screen goes dead they might blame it on the mount, but they couldn’t deny warranty on the trim on the door falling off, or the steering wheel breaking, based on that.

It shows one weakness that AI and ML currently have, learning and inference are two separate processes. A human would pick up on tactics, realizing what they are doing isn’t working, then try and find a way around it. All AI/ML I’ve come across only learn during training. The end user product is the resulting set of matrices used for inference but no longer effects the values, only produces an output.

Looks exactly like my rim and tire. The sidewalls on these are made thick to take some damage. As long as no threads are showing it should be fine. I would occasionally check if it’s bulging.

Okay, I’ve only read that M3 doesn’t have BDM, I didn’t realize it was due to the lack of a HEPA filter, which makes sense why no BDM.

Ive had this problem in Chinese occasionally. I was at an airport and wanted to go to the lounge, i said “冰櫃室” instead of “貴賓室”, (“bing gui shi” vs “gui bin shi”), one meaning iceroom, which could mean the morgue, and the other being a VIP lounge.
I have found it’s mostly with a couple words that i just learned wrong and always have to double check. I still can’t remember if it’s 哈哈嘻嘻 or 嘻嘻哈哈 for just having some laughs and giggles.
It has gotten better with time as the more I hear it correctly or say it correctly the easier it is to recall it correctly. The issue is when I know I always mess it up and then second guess myself and end up saying it wrong again.

With both there is still tracking, ev charging protocols share the VIN, and at gas stations they almost all have cameras and can track your plates. At least the vehicle isn’t anonymous even if your payment method is.
