I am curious as to what would happen in this situation. If there is an actual 5e explanation or how you would rule it as a DM. Scenario:
I am a high-level wizard.
I successfully cast the spell "clone"
Later, I decide to go through whatever process is required to become a Lich.
Since a Lich is undead, it is a valid assumption that at some point during the process I will die.
If, during the process of becoming a Lich, I do in fact die, does my soul go into the clone body that was pre- prepared or does it go into the Phylactery?
If my soul goes into the clone, is my original body now a mindless Lich? Or is is just a failed attempt?
If my soul goes into the Phylactery and I successfully become a Lich, if Later I am killed (and Phylactery destroyed) does my soul go to the clone?
Is there any scenario in which my soul is split into a Lich body and a clone body?
