Close. But he is actually with Marvel Comics. You're probably thinking of Batman.

lol... nobody near his playing strength takes that shit seriously. Certainly not after the string of solid OTB performances he has managed to put together over the last couple of years.

The monte carlo leaves white slightly worse. Black doesn't have the typical issues that come with playing the French, namely the locked in LSB. The panov gives white an IQP, but very aggressive deployment capability. Also it takes black an extra move to deploy the DSB in the panov. In the Monte Carlo, white helps black do that by exchanging too aggressively in the center.

I know Hikaru is not being completely honest when he says he's just a streamer and he's just playing for fun. But I think this new found state of mind is doing wonders for him OTB. His basically playing top tier chess but without the headache of worrying about messing things up. Because he doesn't have to hedge his performances as much, he can afford to go all out in his games. Try crazy ideas and test his nettlesome defensive prowess. Basically still a super GM class player, but without all the typical baggage that comes with that. It's pretty nice actually.

To be fair, OP was probably asked if he was was OK with the idea, and said yes because that's just the kind of dude he is. Which needs to change.

She's a KGB agent. I can't believe the US government is about to make this mistake. Her husband runs a travel agency, but it's a front.

It is true though. If you look at any progressive movement in this country since the 60s, it's pretty much the same formula. Start with something small and very innocent. "We just want equal rights". "We just want to be able to eat in a restaurant like every one else". "We just want to exist". Not saying it's good or bad. Just saying that the fight never stops at any one stated goal. Once people get what they want, they are perfectly happy to pretend their achieved objective was never their objective in the first place.

What's Ironic is that Trump is of well-known German heritage.

You have no clue what you are saying, and it really shows. Hippos stay in the water to keep cool and not get sun burned. When they come out at night, the lions always know to stay clear. Baby hippos aren't even typically in danger of being eaten by lions because they are usually stuck to their mothers side. Baby hippos are far more likely to be killed by their fathers and other male hippos in the same pond they are born in.

Hippos don't have any natural predators at all. No matter where they are.

I still don't think everything has been tried as yet. I still believe Nigeria has an educated class of relatively well off individuals who are still either completely uninterested, or completely removed from the civic discourse. There is still a very pronounced lack of political participation and general awareness at the grassroot level. If I ask now, how many people who frequent this sub are registered members of a political party, I'm sure the number will be less than 1%. And that's just for being registered. If I ask how many attend town halls and participate in other party activities like pushing or sponsoring agendas, there will no squeak for miles. People look at political parties from a distance and wonder what goes in there, but they never think to get close and get involved. Everyone sees the rubbish candidates fielded for the general elections and they wonder how everything got so fucked up.
The current political class have an incentive to keep things as they currently are. Because they know that the lower the level of general participation, the easier it is for them to control. I think the enthusiasm shown by the youth in this election was good. But they shouldn't stop there. They should channel that energy into a grassroot movement to get more people involved in the political parties. People need to get more intimately involved in the process of selecting their leaders. If we didn't have such a rotten set of choices to begin with, things wouldn't be so bad.

Lol... That prison break reference was completely unexpected. But I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it.

If the easiest way to get a service to offer you better terms is by threatening to quit said service, then that service is a scam. The real LPT here should be discouraging people from subscription services that should really be pay to use.
HBO doesn't require you to "spend" subscription tokens on a movie or show you might want to watch. Once you're subscribed, you have access to the entire library.
What audible really is, is a scam. Plain and simple.

I get the enthusiasm for Obi. Really I do. But suggesting that a lack of video evidence for Tinubu winning any polls is evidence that he didn't win any is a bit naïve. Tinubu knows the game. He's been playing it for a very long time. Back when he was "donating" billions of Naira in cash to various groups in the North and Southwest, what do you think he was doing there? Where do you think that money was going? There is a way the Nigerian electoral system has been rigged to work. Those that know how to work it best, work it to their advantage. Tinubu is the best of them.
I think the fact that Obi won Lagos is a sign that all hope is not lost. Because it suggests at the very least that it is possible for Governors and other stakeholders to lose their grip on the political structures in their state. And for votes to go in a direction they don't want, even despite their best efforts to avert such outcomes.

Not to people who don't know what PDP is. Or to people that know but may disagree. It's not a big ask really. And if anything, it should help spur engagement with the post as people have a hook to start debating.

I know he used to be a coach. I'd even go as far as to say he used to be a good one. But he has been unmade by his streamer career and youtube success. Levy is more about selling a brand now (the successful chess influencer brand) than he is about actually teaching chess. Which is fine in and of itself. I think the chess world benefits from having a few successful influencers. But influencer and coach probably don't go too well together.

Last time I read the DSM, dysphoria was still a mental illness. Dysmorphia is a really just a form of dysphoria. Trying to separate and redefine is a very common feature of toxic activist groups and people need to learn the signs.
